Donations

As a non-profit organization, your donation helps us in our day-to-day operations. We accept electronic payment through Canada Helps (click the button on the right), cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard and personal cheques made out to The Burnside Gorge Community Association. Your donation of over $100 will be publicly recognized on our Friends of Burnside Gorge Wall. Charitable tax receipts are available upon request.

In addition to monetary donations, we also accept:

• Canadian Tire money
• pull tabs (aluminum beverage cans, pet food tins)
  
• Campbell Soup labels (or UPC/barcodes from tetra packaging)
  
• Island Farms UPC codes

Gap employees can make a contribution in these ways:

• The Matching Gift Program (minimum $25 USD)
• The Money for Time Program (15 hours of volunteer time will be recognized with a donation of $150 USD)
  

Resource Room

The Burnside Gorge Centre is thankful for your kindness and support in donations. Items in the Resource Room benefit children, youth and families in need at no cost to them. Please contact the Family Centre Coordinator via email or call 250-388-5251 ext. 248 to arrange an appointment to drop off your donation.

Some donation FAQ:

• We cannot accept cribs or mattresses due to the numerous recalls regarding infant bedding. 
• Car and booster seats must fulfill all of the following: be donated by the original owner who can verify that it's never been in an accident; be newer than two years old; clean (free of stains and food debris); in good condition; include the original manufacturer instruction manual.
  
• Strollers must be in good condition, clean (free of stains and food debris), have working restraint straps and brakes.
  
• We are unable to accept donations of open food or cosmetics due to risk of expiration and/or contamination. Factory sealed items are acceptable.
  
• We do not accept donations of power cords, loose wires, out of date computers and related equipment.
