About OSC at the Burnside Gorge
The Burnside Gorge Community Centre supports accessible
and
affordable childcare for more than 100 families in Greater
Victoria. We
provide Out-of-School Care
(OSC) at Burnside Campus
and Quadra and Tillicum Elementary schools. We also
provide Kindercare at Quadra
and
Burnside
Campus.
Transportation is available from Tillicum to Burnside for kinders
and OSC children
who live in the Burnside neighbourhood. We offer a full day
registered Summer Camp
for children aged 5 to 12 that has
continued to grow over the
past 12 years.
The staff at our OSC facilities are highly dedicated and qualified individuals. Their combination of education and hands-on experience is the best you can get. They come from various backgrounds and life experiences to bring a unique approach to their work.
Preschool
Preschool prepares children for Kindergarten. Our program encourages
children to develop personal indendence, being able to make creative
choices for themselves, and to teach responsibility and respect for
each other.
Whether they initiate their own cooperative play or work together as
a team, our children practice new skills and learn how to communicate
their ideas and needs effectively. We give them the tools to build and
soar to new heights.
Our program includes developing and
refining the following:
- physical abilities and development of motor skills
- language and communication skills
- social skills to work and play as a group
- the desire to learn

The Burnside Gorge Preschool runs Monday through Friday from 9
am to
12 pm. We offer both five day and three day per week programs.
