Pre-registration is required for all programs unless noted, and payment is required at the time of registration.  Great programs get cancelled if there are not enough registered participants – register early to avoid disappointment.  

Payment may be made by cash, cheque, credit card (VISA & MC), Debit or City of Victoria LIFE credits.

Mom and Babe Fit Camp

Are you struggling to fit your workout in with a baby? Look no further than Mom and Babe Fitcamp. This Fitcamp is designed for all fitness levels, especially those looking to get in better shape, or drop the last few pounds of baby weight. Modifications will be made for ALL fitness levels whether you are a seasoned exerciser, having issues with jumping and high impact moves or are rehabbing diastasis recti. The babies can be incorporated into the workouts or play with the toys, as we are located in the family centre. Babies of all ages are welcome. Instructor Kylie Rencher

Bands and Balls

In this 60 min class, we use bands and balls to work all the major muscle groups and some smaller ones as well. We then take time to stretch out the muscles we used to increase flexibility and ease of movement. Instructor Helen Dougherty

Strong by Zumba

Perfect for those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles! The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups including arms, core and lower body. Zumba Gold and Yoga

Always wanted to Zumba but thought it might be too much for you? This class combines gentle Zumba Gold dance and fitness moves with yoga stretches, breathing exercises and deep relaxation. It is ideal for for beginners, active older adults and other participants who may need  program modifications.

Prenatal Yoga

This friendly, supportive class will include safe and gentle movements, preparing your body for birth. Focus will be placed on strengthening deep core muscles, releasing tension and rejuvenating your entire body. These gentle asanas will benefit your spine, uterus and pelvic floor, and increase overall comfort.  Connect with other moms-to-be in your community as you enjoy the benefits of this popular class. Hatha Flow Yoga

Start your week off with this rejuvenating Hatha Yoga class! This class if perfect for anyone who is looking to expand their physical frontiers. We will combine breathe work, physical postures, and stretching. The relaxing pace will be suitable for beginners, those with limitations, and experienced student!

XL-Yoga

Yoga for large people taught by a large person.  The benefits of yoga – increased balance, flexibility, stamina, and relaxation are wonderful for everybody. We’ll make the poses work for our bodacious and strapping bods using modifications and props (bolsters, blankets, and straps). "We'll do some poses in pairs and some individually. It's a fun all levels class where we use one another’s bodies to make poses more challenging and fun.

Yin Yoga Sprinkled with Metta, Music and Poetry      

A 2 hour workshop with gentle yin postures to slowly open the connective tissue of the body.  This quiet, meditative practice and slow gentle traction creates a sense of ease in the mind, length in the body & helps to strengthen ligaments, joints & bones.  Bolsters, blocks and other props are used to support you in the postures which are held for about 5 minutes.  We’ll practice metta (loving kindness) while sinking in to the sounds of soothing music and inspiring poetry. Facilitated by Cedar Sorensen, Yoga Instructor E-RYT 500 & Yoga Therapist

Spanish Language for Beginners

In this introductory class, learn basic vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, as well as idioms and expressions that you will need to travel comfortably in Spanish speaking countries.

Beginner Cake Decorating

Learn how to decorate cake and other delicious treats. Basic skills like icing a cake and cupcakes will be shown. Piping different borders, flowers, and different creative buttercream designs will be taught. Instructor: Lauren Hoffert

Intermediate Cake Decorating

In this class you will use and refine the skills you already have or gained from the beginner course. Students will also be introduced to how to cover a cake in fondant and shown simple fondant decorations. Instructor: Lauren Hoffert

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Irritable Bowel Disease and Celiac Disease 

Learn why food sensitivities and allergies are becoming more prevalent and the differences between each condition, the specific testing required, and natural tips to support a healthy and functional digestive system. Presenter Dr. Jennifer Gratton, Naturopathic Physician at Coastal Roots Health Centre. Suggested donation of $10, with proceeds supporting Burnside Gorge family programs.

Introduction to the Mediterranean Diet 

Like healthy, fresh and delish? You will leave wanting more! Sit back and relax with a tasty appetizer as you are introduced to Mediterranean cuisine. Your instructor will show you how to create dishes using popular Mediterranean diet ingredients. You will sample the tasty dishes and enjoy food the Mediterranean way! 2/$35

The Mediterranean Diet and Healthy Fats

 Sharpen your cooking skills with Mediterranean cuisine! Learn about the most important ingredient in Mediterranean cookery. In this demonstration class, you’ll learn how to use extra virgin olive oil in your everyday cooking. Bring your taste buds over and sample a tasty appetizer and the dishes you will learn about. 2/$35

The Mediterranean Diet and Antioxidants 

What colour is your diet? You will feel inspired discovering dishes that burst with flavour and colour. Sit back and relax with a Mediterranean appetizer as your instructor shows you how to freshen up your cooking creations with dishes rich in antioxidants and colour. You will sample the tasty dishes and leave feeling vibrant! 2/$35

The Mediterranean Diet and Pulses & Grains 

Who knew it would be so fun cooking with pulses & grains! You will feel amazed. Join us and experience a celebration of flavours that will make you say yum! In this demonstration class, you’ll see how to make flavourful heart healthy dishes with peas, beans, chickpeas, lentils and grains. You will sample the tasty dishes and leave feeling nourished! 2/$35

The Messages Your Body is Telling  You – Are you Listening?

Many people go through life with aches and pains and consider that to be normal. Well, what if it isn’t? What if these aches and pains are messages from your body telling you what it needs to be healthy? In this presentation, learn about what some of those messages might be and what you can do about them. Presented by Helen Dougherty
